Welcome potential visitor :) Whether you just need a place to crash on your bike tour to Bosnia, want to organise a feminist tech workshop or if you're interested to integrate into the community, read on.
Important information
- Basic rules: permission required to bring pets, no indoor smoking, responsible drug consumption, no illegal up/downloads, quiet after 22:00, keep things clean, (d)english as default. (For further details, see "Collective Agreements: Relevant in first days")
- Physical accessibility: there are three steps at the front door, everything is spread out over 3 floors and we have no elevator. Let us know if this would be an issue and we can see how/if we can make it work.
- Dust: we clean, but the space is not dust free. Some people with dust allergies had them triggered here. Let us know if you have such allergies, and we can see how/if we can make it work.
- Money: there is no individual price for staying here; we have collective costs over €10,000.00 per year. Donations are welcome, there is no recommendation for how much.
- Vegan & freegan: our communal meals are vegan. However, since we rescue most of our food, there is also non-vegan and non-vegetarian food in the space. We take care that food preparation is separated.
- Coldness: the house is not (fully) insulated yet, in the cold months you'll need to wear extra layers indoors.
- Stuff: bring your toothbrush, medication, etc - we have everything else (including toiletries, clothes, books, instruments...)
- Staying longer: interested in joining the community long term? First come and visit a while so we can get to know each other and what's meant to be will follow.
Arranging a visit
To arrange a visit, write us an email or a message in our chat. Let us know when and for how long you'd like to stay, and what your intentions for visiting are. To make a visit possible, a current resident must host you (i.e. be your initial and primary contact, show you around, introduce you to others, etc.)
Group events
Group visits have mostly the same process as for individual visits above. We can host groups of 10 just fine, 20 is a stretch and 30+ only with a lot of preparation. Further information we need to know includes how many attendees will come, room requirements and desired level of community integration. Our experience leads us to desire 1 dedicated contact person for your group and that at least one person from your group knows the place to be sure that it suits your needs.
